On behalf of the BC Liquor Distribution Branch, I’d like to extend an invitation to join us at an open house to celebrate the opening of our new liquor distribution centre in Delta. Last week’s announcement.
We are offering stakeholders a tour of the new facility, located at 7003 72nd Street in Delta, on Sunday, October 28, 2018. This new 400,000 sq. ft. facility is almost twice as large as our aging Vancouver warehouse, which opened in 1964, and will allow us to better serve our customers. Among the features:
• More than double the receiving and shipping capacity to improve our ability to receive and hold additional inventory plus ship existing product on time to improve our service level to our customers
• A newly designed three-level bottle pick area to increase efficiency in processing orders
• Automated pallet scale and wrapping machines that can detect if an order is under or above its expected shipping weight, which will lead to reduced shipping errors and costs
• Expanded customer order pickup area to reduce wait time and improve our customer experience
On a daily basis, staff at the expanded Delta Distribution Centre will receive about 60 truckloads of product and process orders and deliveries to wholesale customers across the province. The larger hospitality customer pickup area will be able to better accommodate the 300 pickups processed each week, with a maximum of 100 per day.
