Today we received from Mary Sue Maloughney, Assistant Deputy Minister and General Manager of the Liquor Cannabis and Regulatory Branch, official notification regarding changes to the Liquor Licensee Penalty schedule and changes on how the Penalty policy is administered.
The board strongly recommends that every member review these documents linked below and the Liquor Licensee Penalty Schedule to familiarize yourself with the penalty schedule. It ranges from non-notification of structural change $1,000, to inducements for $7,000 and $11,000 for the first offence and moves up from there.
As you know the LCRB has increased their enforcement team and its mandate so one can expect more inspections and more compliance warnings and possibly fines.
Once again please take the time to review these changes and review the penalty schedule ignorance will not be an excuse to the LCRB.
