Hoyne & Driftwood mash it up
Posted March 19, 2014
Premiering at Victoria Beer Week earlier this month is a fantastic collaboration between Victoria breweries Hoyne & Driftwood that likely won’t last long on shelves! The baltic porter was brewed in separate batches by both breweries using sliiiightly different ingredients (but essentially the same recipe). Taking advantage of the close proximity (the breweries share a parking lot), a hose was run between the two to blend each batch, forming a truly collaborative brew.
The Rock Bay Mash Up (named after the area of town populated by most of Victoria’s craft breweries) is available on shelves right now – we urge you to grab a bottle shile you can! Here’s what Hoyne & Driftwood have to say…
“Craft brewers everywhere work together to spread the joy that is craft beer. Many collaborations have sprung from this spirit of fellowship, but not many breweries share the same parking lot! Rock Bay Mash Up is the product of Driftwood & Hoyne brewing the same recipe, then combining the brews by running a hose across the parking lot! Two brewers; competitors yes, but allies even more!”
